TORONTO, CANADA

In a city the size of Toronto it is not hard to réalize that the odds of meeting truly compatible people through the usual avenues of socializing are small. Would the problem then not be magnified within the gay community?

If you'd consider for a moment that the basis of a truly full relationship depends initially on whether or not the two people are indeed compatible with each other, then certain questions should come to mind. How first of all, can you determine whether or not the person you just met in a bar is anywhere near compatible? Will this person in fact share any of your likes and dislikes? Not only do you waste time, but quite often one of the two parties suffers some sort of hurt. The same situations exist between couples as well. Quite often after a couple has adjusted to each other and consider themselves compatible they find that they lack a circle of friends to socialize with. In this case we are not referring to couples you go out with because you happen to be going to the same place but rather couples that share similar interest areas. Someone you can share feelings with as well as just an evening.

Some people tend not to socialize at all. The fear of approaching someone often eliminates any social life at all. And, there is also the fear of having someone 'know'.

How then can we solve such problems? The first step is to determine what your basic likes and dislikes are. How can you possibly hope to find someone compatible if you do not know what it is you are looking for?

Through, evaluation, psychologists can determine whether or not two people have at least the basic chemistry required to create a relationship. Once this is established it would not be difficult to develop a lasting relationship.

The problem is meeting these people in a city as great as Toronto.

Confidential Matching Services has taken it upon themselves to act as a liaison. Through a programme designed by Dr. G. Biederman of the University of Toronto, we have developed a programme based on compatibility indexes which has proven itself successful. As the name implies, all information is received in strict confidence and will be treated with only the interests of the clients in mind. CMS can, on a regular basis, refer compatible adults and couples directly to each other, guaranteeing that these people have been specifically selected for them.

If you would like to know more, drop in on us and discuss it at your leisure. Coffee is always on.

On The Border

On the Border The Eagles

Elektra Asylum-75-1004

asylum

The Eagles first played together as a four-man backup for Linda Ronstadt. A few years ago they decided to set out on their own and were rewarded with almost immediate success. Recently they added a new member, Don Felder, a guitarist whose amazing work at a studio recording session earned him an invitation to become the fifth Eagle. His acceptance of that offer was a fortunate move.

On the Border contains several songs which have received widespread AM and FM airplay. Most notable of these is the hit single "Best of My Love." The simple, easily heard and remembered lyrics and well constructed rhythms have great appeal for a wide and diverse audience. As in their previous albums, the Eagles have again given us songs with an easy, mellow, almost country feeling. However, with the addition of Felder, the group's music has acquired heavier, more involved instrumental sounds. This is particularly evident in "A Good Day in Hell," and the title cut, "On the Border." Both songs contain extended passages of dazzling guitar work which rockets the music to a new and unexpected level of expression. The Eagles were good before, but now with the newly added guitar pyrotechnics the Eagles really fly.

Sheer Heart Attack Queen

Elektra-7-E 1026

Queen's third album is an almost self-effacing attempt to distinguish themselves as a "superheavy" set of metal rockers; heavy they are, rockers no doubt. In fact, rockers is all they really are. They haven't been together long enough to individualize their sound into. either a notable or even recognizable style. Three of the group's four members admittedly are influenced heavily by the late Jimi Hendrix, and his sound is evident throughout the album.

Queen serves up rock hot and fast, and sometimes this narrows their spectrum of versatility. I might add in passing that the group's name does not necessarily imply what is obvious enough for some to be left unsaid. The cuts on the album are either flat out rock 'n roll or layback and lyrical. All in all, if you get off on rock 'n rollers, this gang will rock you "'till your head rolls off," but it's all "mental massage" and very little message.
